October Feature - Green Tea Leaves 

Sometimes the best ideas start because you can't find exactly what you're looking for. That's what happened with Tiffany Lee, the artist and designer behind Green Tea Leaves. She wanted a simple, minimal arc necklace but couldn't find one that felt quite right. So, with a little help from a friend who taught her the basics of metalwork, she decided to make it herself. Ten years later, Tiffany is still creating jewelry in Honolulu with that same appreciation for clean lines and thoughtful design.

Tiffany works primarily with sterling silver and 14k gold fill, creating pieces that are simple, minimal, and architectural. Her process starts with sketches, followed by prototypes in copper or brass where she can work out the scale and functionality of each design. Once everything feels right, she creates the final piece in precious metal. Her background as an architect naturally finds its way into her jewelry, where strong shapes and intentional lines take center stage.

For Tiffany, being a creative in Hawaiʻi is something she considers a privilege. She speaks about the deep respect for land and community that is instilled here and believes that supporting local artists helps strengthen our community by encouraging us to care for and support one another. We love that her jewelry is not only designed and made here in Honolulu, but also comes from a very personal place. As Tiffany says, "Handmade art comes straight from the heart."
